JESUS

As both God and man He is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and perfect life, died on a cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory over death and empower us for life.

Who is Jesus?

How did the world begin?

Why is it the way it is?

How will everything end?

Is there any hope?

MISSION / VISION

Freshwater Church exists to be a church that is making disciples by leading the people of our community and world into a totally committed relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our desire is for Freshwater Church to live out this mission in the southern Jefferson City area in such a way that our city, the surrounding areas, and the world are impacted with the story of Jesus Christ.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man.

God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.

Man

Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation.

Salvation

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.

God's Purpose of Grace

Election is the gracious purpose of God, according to which He regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners.

Baptism and the Lord's Supper

Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Evangelism and Missions

It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and of every church of the Lord Jesus Christ to endeavor to make disciples of all nations.

CORE VALUES

Core values might be defined as those values that influence what the church decides to do as well as what it decides not to do. They are a reflection of our heart and our vision for how Freshwater Church is going to accomplish the mission that God has given it. Freshwater has four core values. They are:

Connection -- We define connection as being transformed by being in the presence of God.

Spiritual Formation -- Spiritual Formation is another way of describing how we are transformed into the image of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Community -- We believe that Biblical community is best experienced in small groups of people, called 'Life Groups', that meet on a regular basis to study God’s word and live life together.

Disciple-Making -- Freshwater Church does not exist for us: rather, it exists for God to be glorified and made a ‘big deal’ of in our world. This happens as disciples are made locally and globally.
