About Us

WHO WE ARE

Freshwater Church is a local group of Christians who, together, commit to knowing, loving, trusting, and following Jesus Christ every day of our lives. We also desire to see others in our community and in our world become totally, committed followers of Jesus Christ. We come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, but we are united in the atoning work of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is He and He alone who holds our church together and gives us purpose. We are not perfect, and we don't have it all together. However, we seek to become Christ-like through corporate worship, Bible study, prayer, living and mission. We exist to encourage and support each other in our pursuit of following Christ and so that others can also learn about the good news of Jesus Christ.

On this website you’ll find lots of important information that can help you learn more about Freshwater. You’ll find what we believe about God, Jesus, and our own lives. You'll discover what we value as a church. You'll find opportunities to engage with our church through various groups or at upcoming events. And you can even find a recent sermon or learn more about some of our leaders. As helpful as we hope this information is, we greatly desire to meet you in person sometime as we gather locally. Most of all, we desire you to know Jesus and devote your life to him alongside other like-minded believers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What to Wear/Bring

Freshwater has a relatively relaxed atmosphere. Most of us wear jeans or shorts, although some may prefer to dress up. No matter how any of us are dressed, we want you to be comfortable when you come. We encourage you to bring a Bible and a pen, if you have one.

Where to Go

Freshwater Church meets at 2500 Tanner Bridge Place in Jefferson City, MO. You'll be greeted at the door with a warm welcome and any relevant information you might need for the morning. You can also find this information in the Freshwater mobile app.

Once inside the building you'll notice signage for different areas. If you have children, there's a check-in table to your left for Freshwater KIDS, an option for children 0-12 to attend in lieu of the normal service. There will be someone at the check-in table to assist you. The Worship Center, which is our main gathering area for the service, will be straight ahead. We also encourage you to visit the Connect Table to receive information regarding Life Groups (small community groups) and any upcoming events. Grab a doughnut and coffee at the Refresh Table, and feel free to mingle or find your seat. The two identical services begin at 9:00 am and 10:30 am, respectively.

The Worship Service

Freshwater believes in making the time that we spend together as impactful and purposeful as possible. We understand your time is precious, so our services don’t usually last any longer than an 70 minutes. This includes about 20 minutes of opening music, a message from the Bible that usually lasts 30-35 minutes, and a time of reflection and encouragement at the end. We typically observe communion (i.e., the Lord's Supper) the first Sunday of the month, but this generally fits within the 70-minute timeframe. Our song selections vary from week to week but usually include relatively new songs with occasional hymns. You might hear some songs you already know, while also being introduced to some songs you don't know. After the service, we'd love to get to know you better either at the Connect Table or up front. If you dropped off children at Freshwater KIDS, you can pick them up through the courtyard area in the Freshwater KIDS area.

Offering

Freshwater Church exists to glorify God through advancing the gospel. This is supported through our generosity in giving. We celebrate the opportunity to give back to God what he's so generously given us by offering our partners and regular attenders a variety of ways to bring their offerings. There's a giving kiosk and a giving box on-site as well as giving options in the mobile app or on the website. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to give.
