On November 6, 2022, Paul was installed as one of the elders of Freshwater. While growing up, he spent time in Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, and North Dakota. He attended North Dakota State University graduating in 1975 with a BS degree in Pharmacy. After graduating, he moved to Chicago to start a career as a pharmacist where he met and married his wife, Laurel, in 1977. The Lord has blessed them with three beautiful daughters, Jill, Kari, and Beth. They have 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1988 with a Master of Divinity degree while pastoring a church for 4 1/2 years. Paul retired from pharmacy in 2021 after 46 years in the profession. Paul's passion is in discipleship and helping believers learn to spiritually feed themselves for the rest of their life.
